Bajrang Dal opens Service Centre
Hojai: Amid pomp and gaiety of Durga Puja Celebrations Bajrang Dal Hojai Unit comes up with a Service Centre at New Market in Hojai.On Wednesday morning around 11 am this Service centre got opened with Bharat Mata pujan. On Astami, Navmi and Dashmi drinking water and first aid help will be available free of cost.
Talking to this Correspondent, Ashok Kejriwal,General Secretary, Hojai District Vishwa Hindu Parishad Unit along with VHP District President Ratan Roy, Bajarang dal Sah Sanyojak Dinesh Dubey and Nagar Sanyojak Sumit Das jointly said," Our main motive is service to society, accordingly centre has been opened to serve the society." "Here Drinking Water along with First Aid help will be available for the denizens of Hojai during Puja hours.",They added. They further said for peaceful execution of the service more than 100 volunteers has been assigned duties and to encourage youths we have been regularly organising this types of Social events.At last, They said that on Tuesday evening a Swachtaa drive was launched in and around Saheed Badi at New Market in Hojai.

Contractual TET teachers engaged in the state government aided schools, may be deprived from their salaries with a huge amount of fund being diverted by the Sarba Siksha Abhiyan Mission, Assam. The central government granted Sarba Shikha Abhiyan, Mission, Assam more than eight hundred crore rupeesfor paying the TET teachers’ salariesin the fiscal year2014-15. But a huge amount of the fund has been diverted into different heads by the Mission Abhiyan costing the TET teachers. According to available information the contractual TET teachers numbering around 32 thousands may not get salaries from February.
The central government has been paying the contractual TET teachers’ salaries through the Sarba Shikha Mission Abhiyan. The contractual TET teachers in the state have been initially engaged for five years and among them some eight thousands teachers on merit basis received regular appointments under the state Education Department.
The fate of the TET teachersengaged purely on merit basis in different schools across the state is hanging in a balance till now. It is still not clear whether they would be appointed on regular basis or not after expiry of their contractual term. It is worth mentioning here that more than 13 thousand posts of regular teachers in various government aided schools are lying vacant across the state. Ironically, the state government has notyet filled up the vacant posts.

BPF leader and Assam minister Chandan Brahma,addressed a huge peace rally at Tetelibhanguri under Kalaigaon Police Station today at 11.30 am.On the occasion of meeting family members of Krishna Kanta Boro,whose body was found at a paddy field near Bhakatpara on September 7, minister Brahma and other high level people of the state and BTC attended the peace rally. Minister Brahma specially thanked Udalguri district administration and Udalguri police for quick recovery of the dead body of Krishna Kanta Boro and arrest of the culprits. Declaring that an amount of Rs.6 lakhs would be paid to the family members within a time frame he also requested people belonging to all community to help district administration for checking anti social activities in the area.
On the occasion he said that education and rehabilitation of the children and wife would be done by the government. The minister declared that Bhakatpara police out post had already been upgraded to a full fledged police station.
Biswajit Daimari,MP (RS) while addressing people said that social and political differences must be short out by discussion and legal procedures. Rihon Daimari, MLA requested ABSU and AMSU to take the responsibility of maintaining peace in the sensitive areas so as to bring back normalcy at the earliest.He also thanked Thaneswar Malakar,DC and Debojit Deuri, SP of Udalguri for timely action to maintain law and order in the district.The peace rally was also addressed by Ramen Deka,MP and Jagadish Sarkar,MCLA,BTC.Several distinguished persons namely-Kamali Basumatari,MLA; Lwmsrao Daimari, EM, BTC; Bonjar Daimari,Dy Speaker BTC; Moneswar Brahma,MLA;Dandi Ram Rabha, MCLA, BTC and Thaneswar Malakar,DC,Udalguri attended the rally along with other high level civil and police officials and journalists.

After months of will-it-wont-it, Ekhon Nedekha Nadir Xiphare' will hit the silver screen on Friday. Produced by National Film Development Corporation on Majuli river island, the total budget of the films stands at Rs 2.5 crore. Veteran actor Victor Banerjee along with actors Sanjay Suri, Bidita Bag, Raj Zutshi, Nakul Baid, Naveed Aslam, Preeti Jhangiani would be seen in action along with singer Zubeen Garg who has acted in the film. The film includes a recording of Hazarika in its opening credits, in which he narrates poetic verses about his favourite Luit witnessing the follies of human beings through time in silence.
