Margherita, May 5: In a heartening display of community spirit and devotion, prominent social worker Jaha Singpho of Chiro Pathar, Margherita, has donated 4 kathas of land, valued at approximately ₹30 lakh, for the construction of a new Buddhist monastery at Makum Pathar Mase village in Margherita.
The monastery's inauguration ceremony was held with great fervor and was attended by several dignitaries. Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein graced the occasion as the chief guest, while Namchai Constituency MLA Chow Jingnu Namchum, Margherita Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Thaudam Parikshit, and Tehon Hakun, the high priest and Christian Progressive Leader of the Eastern Frontier Area, were present as distinguished guests.
Speaking at the event, Deputy CM Chowna Mein lauded Jaha Singpho’s generous act, calling it an inspiration for society at large. He emphasized the importance of such contributions in preserving the region’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage. Other speakers echoed similar sentiments, appreciating Jaha Singpho’s dedication to promoting peace, harmony, and communal development.
