Anubhuti & Emon present healing tribute to Dr. Bhupen Hazarika in Kolkata

Mumbai: The never-say-die soul of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika enjoyed yet another acme of glory when millions of people across the globe remembered him on his birth centenary on 8th September. From Assam and Kolkata to the capital Delhi, from India’s downtown Mumbai to Bengaluru, the Bard of Brahmaputra came alive with his songs and rhymes.

On 8th September, renowned music therapist and performer Anubhuti Goswami, along with her husband and multi-instrumentalist Emon Goswami, presented a soulful tribute to the legend Dr. Bhupen Hazarika as part of the birth centenary celebrations in Kolkata.

The duo performed at the Assam Bhawan, organized by the Kolkata Assamese Cultural Association, and at the Ashutosh Birth Centenary Hall, hosted by Byatikram MASDO. Both performances were met with heartfelt applause, as audiences experienced Dr. Hazarika’s immortal songs in a refreshing and healing acoustic format.

The presentations featured the soothing resonance of the handpan, blended with the richness of guitar (Ritu Paban Kotoky) and violin (Sudipendra Nath Chatterjee). This unique arrangement created an immersive atmosphere, leaving listeners deeply moved and reflective. Many shared that the acoustic reinterpretation transformed the concerts into experiences of both music and inner healing.

In his short but illuminating speech, Dr. Saumen Bharatiya, President of Byatikram MASDO, said, “Anubhuti and Emon are bringing a new vibration to the melodies of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika. Their presentation offers a refreshing way to connect with his timeless creations.”

Sharing her thoughts, Anubhuti Goswami, popularly known for conducting healing concerts and corporate wellness sessions across India, said, “Dr. Hazarika’s songs embody humanity and healing. Presenting them in this way was our humble offering to his centenary.”

Emon Goswami stated, “Music, when experienced in an acoustic and meditative way, can touch the inner core. Through this tribute, we aimed to bring a healing essence to his legacy.”
