ULFA cadre apprehended

The Red Horns Division the Indian Army and Kamrup district Police today apprehended one hardcore ULFA militant namely Kanak Baishya from Bangshar village under Sualkuchi PS during a joint operation.Security forces have recovered one Austrian grenade and some documents related to ULFA from his possession.

Water and Sanitation workers stage dharna

Free Eye Camp held at Borka

A free eye check up camp was held at Borka Late Padma Dutta Memorial Library in Kamrup district of Assam on April 20. The Camp was organised by Dr. Akhtarul Islam, an eye specialist of Baihata Chariali. About 120 patients were treated in the camp. The main aim of the eye camp was to provide eye treatment facilities to poor and needy people residing in remote areas. The camp was managed by Dadul Islam, Subha Ram Das, Abdul Rachid, Ugra Deka, Balen Deka, Bhupen Sarma, Bhaskar Deka, Arabinda Deka and Dimbeswar Sarma. Medicines worth Rupees 2 lacs were distributed in the camp.

Free Medical Camp

A free Medical Camp was held at Bhogpur M.E. School near Goreswar in Bagsa dist on February 17, 2010 which was personally organised by Dr. Akhtarul Islam,an eye specialist of Baihata chariali with the aim to provide medical aid to poor and needy people of remote areas. Total six doctors namely Dr. Lakshya Pati sarma, Dr. Tafik Ahmed, Dr. Manik Baruah, Dr. Baharul Islam,Dr. Nava Chakrabarty and Dr. Akhtarul Islam rendered medical services to the patients. About 520 patients were treated in the camp. Free Medicines were distributed among the patients. One Killed in Mishap at Kamalpur

One traffic police constable was killed and one civilian was injured in an accident today took place at Dalma gate of NH31 under Kamalpur PS of Kamrup district. According to the police sources one scooter bearing number AS-01/E-1223 coming from Rangia towards Guwahati was hit by one Tata Winger bearing no AS-01/CC-2573. in that incident the rider of scooter namely Liladhar Das (45), a traffic constable of Nunmati PS was killed and one Sadananda Kalita (35) got severe injury.

Unidentified dead body recovered at Kamalpur

Kamalpur Police recovered a female dead body aged about 25 from Puthimari river in Kamrup district last night. The dead body was completly nude. The body is yet to be identified.

Ultras nabbed

Kamalpur police today apprehended two ULFA militants namely Hemanta Kalita and Bakul Boro. Police has recovered some ULFA related documents from their possession. In another incident, Baihata Chariali police today apprehended one NDFB cadre namely Babul Rabha. He is cadre of 3rd Battalion of NDFB. He is from Udalguri.

Two killed in road mishap

Two persons were killed and two others got severe injury in a road accident took place today at 8am at NH31 at Puthimari under Kamalpur PS in Kamrup district of Assam. According to the police sources an army vehicle going towards Rangia colided with one Maruti Alto bearing No. AS-01/AB-7906 coming from opposite side. The driver of the Maruti car namely Anowar Hussain (30) was killed on the spot. One Amanullah Ali(65) breathed his last on the way to GMCH. Two persons namely Matiur Rahman (30) and Majira Begum ( 31) got severe injury.The army vehicle was seized by Kamalpur Police.
