After days of will-they-won’t-they, the AGP and BJP have file a defamation case of Rs 8 crore against Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma for his allegations of a crore rupee deal between the two parties who forged a pact for the Lok Sabha poll.
Addressing a press conference in Guwahati, AGP general secretary Dr Kamala Kalita said, Dr Sarma is trying to tarnish the image of AGP and BJP in the eye of the people. Kalita said the allegations are serious in nature and that they cannot remain a mute spectator.
The press conference was convened minutes after Dr Sarma alleged that a controversial letter from BJP MP Rajen Gohain to the party president Rajnath Singh.
