We should know more about the award as this kind of aars are given in many times. We need to know more about the award. This can not be any proud momnet for the state. We need to know more about the selection processes and who are the jury and all.

Normal business activities in Guwahati have come to a grinding halt as the traders on Saturday in protest against the move to the trade license fee by 300% by the Guwahati Municipal Corporation. With this day long bandh the traders across the city are demanding roll back the trade license hike. With the support of North East Computer Traders Association (NECTA), the strike is evoking a strong response in the city. Fierce gunfight erupted between security forces and militants at a polling station in Karbi Anglong district while two powerful IED were recovered in Assam's Autonomous District constituency where voting was held in the first phase of Lok Sabha elections day. Two BSF jawans escorting polling personnel injured as Karbi Longri National Front militants ambushed them in central Assam's Karbi Anglong district on Friday in the wee hours.According yp police, the militants exploded a powerful IED and fired at the BSF jawans escorting officials from four polling stations, at Chokikhola under Bokajan police station at around 5:35 am.The jawans also retaliated and the exchange of fire went on for some time before the militants retreated.The polling personnel, who were coming from three poling stations in Bokajan and one from Diphu with EVMs, were all safe and deposited the EVMs at the district headquarters Diphu. The Assam-Nagaland border areas in Sivasagar district slips into a simmering situation after Nazira police foiled the bid of group of officials from Longleng district administration to set up a polling booth in Geleky. The officials under the Tamlu legislative assembly constituency arrived in Borhola on Wednesday evening headed by Tamlu SDO who asked his Nazira counterpart to allow them to set up polling booth in the place. Nazira sub divisional police officer and the SDO did not allow them to do so and asked the Nagaland officials to leave the place. But later they lodged at the Singibeel ME Schools but the local residents rushed to the school and thus allowed to tension to escalate.
A major incident of blast was averted on Thursday when an improvised explosive devise was found near a polling station in Assam's Autonomous District (ST) Lok Sabha constituency.
Accoridng official sources, a police patrolling party found the IED at Disobai, under Bokolia police station of Karbi Anglong district early this morning prior to commencement of polling at 7 am.
Later police defused the bomb by disconnecting its wires, the sources said, adding, security was on high alert in the constituency comprising the twin hill districts of Karbi Anglong and North Cachar Hills district.
