The roads leading to Namrup from Sonari to Namrup as well as Nahakatia to Namrup are in very bad condition. It is hard to imagine such pathetic roads in this twentieth century. Specially in an industrial area like Namrup which houses three very important industries i.e. Bhrahmaputra Valley Fertiliser Corporation Limited, Namrup Thermal Power Plant and Assam Petrochemical limited. The suffering encountered by every people coming to Namrup because of the road, compel them to think twice before coming. The people of Namrup deserves demands better road communication. The concerned authorities and local MLA must take strong initiative for a better Namrup.

Really it is very sad to say, only for road condition Namrup is becoming very backward place in Assam. Only for this reason, every type of business is totally down now. Businessmen leave this place. Now public is helpless.

And Naharkatia! Deep ponds persisting on the roads of Naharkatia for a decade. It is a headache to travel through Nahakatia-Namrup-Dillighat-Sonari road. Reminds one of the lunar explorer over the rough Moon's surface.We thank the government for giving us a real life experience of moon surface (?) without our space suit on!

when Namrup to Naharkatia road was started to making then we feel relax to live .But surprised news that near about one month, due to after one/two days heavy rainfall road started to remove the smooth surface of the road and breaking too. It means ,contractor cheating with us.
So Government should investigate and take immediate action for the road making process about material mixing ratio.

Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Saturday asked police to nab the culprits in the Guwahati molestation case within the next 48 hours. But out of 12 identified police have so far arrested only 4 miscreants. That too five days after the shocking incident that brews widespread acrimony. Chief Minister Gogoi on Friday evening appointed a Special Task Force to look into the matter. Meanwhile, the National Commission for Women formed a three-member team which is in Guwahati to conduct a probe.

A 16-member troupe will be performing Bihu during the Indian campaign for the London Olympics on August 1 and 2 at Royal Festival Hall, South Bank Centre in London. KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi on Saturday targeted a satellite TV news channel alleging that a reporter of the channel was actively involved on the Guwahati molestation incident. KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi on Friday demands President’s Rule in Assam to bail out the state from the worsening law and order situation. Talking to reporters, Gogoi said that Guwahati is teeming with lumpen elements and criminals where the people have no safety and security. He further demanded a CBI probe into the incident saying that the incident suggests total collapse of law and order in the state. Union Home Minister P Chidambaram on Friday asked Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi to strictly deal with the perpetrators in the Guwahati molestation case. Three suspected NDFB cadres were gunned down during an encounter with security forces in Goalpara district on Friday. According to police, the encounter took place during an operation in Salpara around in the wee hours. In the retaliatory firing, three cadres were killed, while the rest two managed to escape. An AK-56 rifle, a 9mm pistol, a Chinese grenade and over 100 rounds of live ammunition were recovered from the spot.
A woman died of electrocution when she was trying to charge her mobile phone in Kamrup (Rural) district on Friday. The incident took place in the morning in Pitambar Hat Bajali village, when the woman jolted as she put the mobile charger to the switch and fell unconscious in her house of the district. Identifiedas Lalita Kumar, she was rushed to the Rangiya Civil Hospital hospital where she was declared brought dead.
