Reservation for Muslims become a threat for the general people - BJP President
"At present there comes great threat for the Khilanjiya jati-Janagosthi'. The formation of population had completely changed. The AIUDF chief of Assam had raised question in the Loksabha for 10% reservation for the Muslims. This demand might cause a threat for the khilanjiya people of Assam."-- Said Ranjit Dutta, State president, BJP in a press meet at Barpeta press club premises on May 19. Dutta also said that Tarun Gogoi-led congress government had about to complete four years of their rule, but they had forgotten the assurance whatever they had promised during the time of their election. He also called the people to ask the govt why they had not fulfill their assurance. Dutta also demanded the government to solve the international border problem and also demanded to bring back the encroached the 87 thousand hectare land which were under the capture of nearby state. Moreover, he also demanded to preserve the historical monuments at satra nagari Barpeta, rescue the satras, devalayas, mathas, temples and its lands from the encroacher, stop the supply of crude oil, rice, illegal logs, cattle through the river-ways and also urged the govt to strengthen the river police force. He again urged the govt to upgrade Barnagar as the new subdivision of the district, and solve the erosion problem scientifically by the mighty river Bramhaputra and Beki which Had created havoc at Bahari area and so many people became homeless. Besides the president also said to the news persons to complete the construction of Barpeta Medical college as early as possible. The BJP president also informed the news persons that their party would soon started a programme" Gaoloi Bolok" and before that programme they had visited various places of the district like Chenga, Sarthebari and Barpeta town and held Karmi Sabha. He added that the migration problem also becomes a threat for Assam. The Mobile Health Unit under NRHM was opened here at Barpeta today to provide the health service to the deprived people of the district. Two dacoits were killed in an encounter at Jalakura bridge at Keotkuchi, about 4 km from Barpeta yesterday night. According report, a group police personnel headed by the ASP, DSP and TSI of Barpeta got information about the dacoits and they are awaiting for them at that place. As soon as they arrived the police try to catch them, but the encounter took place between the police and the dacoits. As a result two dacoits were killed and other fled away. A pistol, a deggar and a mobile handset were recovered from them. The dead dacoits were not identified till now.
The DSP of Barpeta Sushanta Biswa Sarma with the police personnel of Barpeta and Kalgachiya i/c recovered fake notes worth Rs.11500 of 500 denominations from a one Alam Ali of Madrasapara of Kokila outpost in Barpeta district yesterday. The money was recovered at Barvitha near Kalgachiya. According to report, the business of fake currency was on going during last few days in the entire district.
