100 hours NC Hills bandh

In demand for the bifurcation of NC Hills into two Autonomous districts under 3 (C) of Articles 244 (2) & 275 (1) of the Sixth Schedule to the Constitution of India, the North Cachar Hills Indigenous Students Forum (NCHISF) has given a 100 hours N. C. Hills Bandh from 4 AM of July 12.

The bringing of the bandh will not solve the problems of people like you and me. why do the people dont get in their mind of living in peace n harmony? The creation and division mind of the political leaders and the outfits will not do good for the common. you and i live in the land not only on individual. i pray for those who is still yet to understand the anger cloudy environment in the peace land of N.C.Hills.

Grenade recovered at Haflong

Police recovered China made grenade from the official residence of Sri Mayanan Kemprai, Executive Member, Dima Hasao Autonomous Council, this morning. This grenade was kept in front of the garage of EM’s residence. Grenade recovered at Haflong

Police recovered a Chinese grenade from Essar Petrol Pump here at Haflong this morning which was kept near oil lifting machine. Mentioned may be made here that the Essar pump is belonged to Niramal Langthasa, youngest son of the Local MLA Sri G. C. Langthasa. This pump is situated adjacent to the residence of the MLA. No enthusiasm in electioneering in Dima Hasao

When the entire state is getting ready for the ensuing Assembly election, here in Dima Hasao, the lone 16-Haflong (ST) constituency, no enthusiasm was observed till the date. Because—Lone constituency, more over the people are interested in Autonomous Council and above all the ruling Congress (I) last time denied the ministry for the lone MLA of Dima Hasao. Rail Blockade called off

Demanding immediate resumption of ‘Hill Queen Express’, several organizations of Maibang like Youth Council for Development, Dishru Cultural Club, J. B. Train derails near Lower Haflong

During the 2nd Day of the 100 hours NCHills Bandh suspected bandh supporters remove fish plate of the railway track near Lower Haflong Rly Station at about 2.50 PM resulting to the derailment of down goods train bound for Badarpur with no injury to any person. Railway personals and police rush to the spot to restore the communication. It is to be mentioned here that the railway authority had earlier suspended all the passenger trains upto January 27 as precautionary measure but running of goods train was on. 100 hours NCHills Bandh disrupts normal at Haflong

The NC. Hills Indigenous Students’ Forum sponsored 100 hours N. C. Hills Bandh started from 6 PM on Friday disrupted the normal life at Haflong. Due to 4th Saturday all the offices remain closed. No vehicle was seen on the road except of security. The NCHISF has been demanding immediate bifurcation of N. C. Hills into two Autonomous District with separate Autonomous Council. The Government has also constituted a task force to deal with them. Last 21st January was fixed for talk in-between task force and the IPF and NCHISF but it was deferred by January 28th. Now both the organizations are demanding immediate solution to their demand.

36 hours Dima Raji Bnadh affects normal life

The 36 hours Dima Raji Bandh starting from 5 AM today paralyzed the normal life here at Haflong. The bandh was called by Joint Action Committee Dima Raji Movement (JACDM) in protest against the government’s apathetical attitude towards the popular and genuine demand of Dima Raji. IPF submits memo to Central Home Minister
