Guwahati: Heavy rains in Arunachal Pradesh trigger flash flood again taking a toll of 5 people besides displacing hundreds of people. Parts of upper Assam are reeling under a fresh wave of flood for the last three days.
With heavy rains lashing the neighbouring hills state, the Brahmaputra and its tributaries starts overflowing resulting in flash floods again.
Official sources here say the floods that come suddenly render more than 5,000 people homeless besides claiming five people in three separate incidents in upper Assam.
According to Central Water Commission sources on Wednesday the Brahmaputra are flowing above the danger level in many places.
Notably, five people, including three children, were killed on Tuesday in three separate incidents of drowning in Sivasagar district. These incidents took place while they were moving on wooden rafts.
