To create an awareness of integration among the different community of our country, the ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Govt. of India has launched a programme called National Integration camp. Through this camp the youths of our country gets an opportunity to understand different cultures of different communities resides in our country. Adarsha Samaj Kalyan Samity, a socio-cultural organization has organized National Integration Camp 2009-2010 from September 23rd to September 29th in colloboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra, Nagaon, which was inaugurated today by Additional Deputy Commissioner of Nagaon Dr. Om Prakash. All the different programmes related with youth activities is scheduled to be held at Youth Hostel premises in Nagaon town. Beside Dr. Om Prakash, the other distinguished guests who attended the formal inauguration of the camp were Ghanshyam Hazarika, the retired regional Coordinator of NYKS NE Region, Dandi Nath; DSO Nagaon, Monideepa Saikia; District Social Welfare Officer (Nagaon), Jahnabi Goswami; the national president of HIV positive people Forum and M.A. Laskar; DYC Nagaon .


Dr. Om. Prakash on his speech urged the participants of NIC to fight against the unsocial power, which tries to destroy the National Unity. He Added, “ There are many forces which try to destroy the unity of the country as well as to create inter state border disputes.So the youth are the main mediator which can create awareness to build unity among the different communities.” Jahnabi Goswami who attended the function as special guest requested the youths to develop will power among them, which would help them to lead better life. She told “ I am a HIV Positive patient, but as I have a strong will power I am still strong and working for HIV positive patients.” She urged the youths for their dedication and contribution to build a healthy society.


All the guests appreciated the Adarsha Samaj Kalyan Samity for organizing the important programme in Nagaon and hope that this type of programme would help to develop unity in diversity.

AJYCP protest against Forest Department

Community Iftaar at Nagaon

Silongani Jagrata Unnayan Samaj, a social organization of Naramari Village in Nagaon district organised community Iftaar at Naromari Kothaltoli Anchalik on Monday in which more than 500 people attended. It is to mention that, this social organization which was established in the year 2004, has recently offered training on weaving art to schedule tribes and Scheduled Caste communities along with the implementation of distribution of traditional weaving machines “Tat Shal” for 500 beneficiaries, as told by Jainuddin Ansari, the president of the organization. All round development of Nagaon Railway Station demanded by citizens

In a memorandum to the General Manager, N.F.Railway, Maligaon, the citizens and the passengers of Nagaon demanded for all round development including infrastructure development of the Nagaon Railway Station. Nowgong student attempt suicide

Preetimoni Saikia (15), a student of class X of Kendriya Vidyalaya Nagaon attempted suicide by setting fire to herself in her residence, located at Kolongpar Kohaligaon in Nagaon on Thursday evening. The villagers noticed the fire from a distance and rescued Preetimoni in a critical state. She was rushed to Nagaon B.P.Civil Hospital where later she was referred to Guwahati for advance treatment as she was severely burned. Landslide claim two lives in Nagaon

Two persons were killed in a landslide, leaving one seriously injured at Kondoloi Hill, some 20 kms away from Nagaon on yesterday evening. Those deceased are identified as Memo Murha of Kuhiartoli under Nagaon Police station and Fuleswari Das of Parokhowa under Karbi Anglong district of Assam.
