NRL Quiz held at Golaghat


The highest ever price money inter-institutional quiz competition of country, the NRL QUIZ kicks off with its Golaghat Zone qualifying round which was held at District Library Golaghat. The NRL Quiz is organized by Numaligarh Refinery Ltd. with a first prize of Rupees Five Lakhs All total 27 teams from Golaghat, Jorhat and Sibsagar District participated in the qualifying round. The duo of Hrishikesh Mali and Raktim Saikia of Jorhat Engineering College were the winner of the Golaghat Zone and Mansahi Barua and Debjani Borah of Kendriya Vidyalaya NEIST, Jorhat and Sandipon Pathak and Bishaljeet Baruah of JB College Jorhat were adjudged 2nd and 3rd position respectively. The zonal winner gets Rs. 20,000 and the 2nd and 3rd position holder get Rs. 10,000 and 5,000 respectively. The quiz was conducted by the noted quizmaster of Assam Dr. Dilip Baruah


The qualifying zonal rounds covering entire state will be held in the following zones Guwahati Zone consisting of Kamrup District will be held at G.U. Auditorium on 2nd December, Nalbari Zone consisting of Barpeta, Nalbari and Baksa district will be held at Nalbari Natya Mandir on 5th December, Bongaigaon Zone consisting of Goalpara, Kokrajhar, Bongaigaon, Dhubri and Chirang District will be held at Bongaigaon District Library on 8th December, Nagaon Zone consisting of Nagaon, Morigaon and Karbi Anglong District will be held at Nagaon District Library on 11th December, Tezpur Zone consisting of Sonitpur, Darrang and Udalguri District will be held at Tezpur University on 13th December, Dibrugarh Zone consisting of Tinsukia, Dibrugarh, Dhemaji and Lakhimpur District will be held at Dibrugarh District Library on 15th December and Silchar Zone consisting of Cachar, Hailakandi, Karimganj and North Cachar Hills District will be at Silchar District Library on 20th December. National Book Trust (NBT) in association with Golaghat District Sahitya Sabha and District administration is going to organize a book fair from 17th to 25th October 2008 at Golaghat town.
