Shilabhadra ailing

Noted litterateur Rebato Mohan Dutta Chaudhory, popularly known as Shilabhadra, is ailing. His health condition deteriorated on Thursday morning and he was rushed to the Down Town Hospital for treatment. Mr Chaudhory is a retired professor with the Assam Engineering College, Jorhat.

A new group of travel and tourism professionals comes up in Guwahati with a travel agency. Named as Natural Holidays at Guwahati the outfit aims at serving the demand of tourists in Guwahati.The new venture was inaugurated by ATDC Ltd chairperson Dr Hemoprova Saikia with the various package tours at a function.Apart from local tours, Natural Holidays also offers package tours to Shillong, Cherrepunjee, Kaziranga, Majuli, Bhalukpung, Bomdila, Tawang.Conducted tours to Hajo, Sualkuchi, Madan Kamdev and Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary are also in the pipeline, informs the outfit.

Show cause notice to Kirip Chaliha

The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) serves show cause notice to MP Kirip Chaliha alleging his conspiracy against Chief minister Tarun Gogoi.According a report by a vernacular daily from Guwahati, signed by the party’s disciplinary panel convener Dr Haren Das, the notice asks Mr Chaliha to show cause is given ten days why action will not be taken against him. Mr Chaliha, however, was not available for his comment.
