Cultural Function of Assam by Assam Association of Mumbai

The Assam Association, Mumbai organizes a cultural
function of traditional Assamese music and dance to be
performed by reputed artists specially invited from Assam
on Sunday 23rd September 2007 at Assam Bhawan,
Vashi, from 4 pm to 7 pm. Those cultural items were
created by Sri Sri Sankardeva, the greatest cultural and
social reformer of NE India.
On this occasion, the association takes the pleasure to
invite you and your associates/journalists to make this
event a success. We shall be grateful, if you kindly grant

It was very nice to get the news about the celebration of greatest saint of Asom Srimanta Sankardev, who was the founder of basic culture and peace in Assam, which is still followed to maintain our strong history.

Manisana panel indicts police, dist admn for beltola clash

After weeks of will-they-won't-they, the Assam Government has tabled the Justice Manisana Commission report on Beltola clash on November 24, 2007 on Wednesday along with the action taken report. Assam Govt tables Manisana Report on Beltola Clash

The Assam Government has tabled on the floor of the House the report on the Beltola Clash that rocked the state on November 24 which left 2 people dead .and several others injured. The report contains some uncharitable remarks against the Kamrup district administrations and police for failing to bring the law and order situation under control. An Adivasi girl was also stripped off during the incident in Beltola area in the city. A shaken government set up the Justice Manisana panel to probe into it who filed the report before the government two months back. Devastating fire ravages Bhutnath in Guwahati

Two people died two others injured, more than 1000 houses gutted and as many as 5000 people have been affected when a devastating fire broke out in the city’s Bhutnath area on Tuesday midnight. Army bust ULFA camp in Arunachal

Centre allocated 50 solar street lighting systems for Assam

AASU school inspection

Members of All Assam Student Union (AASU) seized the alleged low quality furniture supplied during the year 2007 by the Education Department to one of its model schools at Bangsor Higher Secondary School under Jalukbari Constituency on 01-04-08. It is mentionable that, during the year 2007 Education Department supplied furniture worth around Rs.3,80,000 to each Model Schools of Assam aiming for the improvement of the educational infrastructure of the state.
