voter awareness campaign failed to make impact on Dr.Manmohan Singh, Prim Minister of India, as he did not cast vote here. What do you expect from general public? Though he later on said that he has casted vote throuh Postal Ballot, he had to give the explanation due to report in the media fearing criticism- one feel.

Jatin Bora quits BJP

BJP leader, Chairman of The Assam State Film (Finance and Development) Corporation and film star Jatin Bora has resigned from th eparty at a protest rally held in Latashil ground, Guwahati on Thursday. Bora while announcing his resignation said that "government has not head people's voice". The protest rally organised by the All Assam Students Union, hundreds of protesters joined the programme, which held peacefully.

Citizenship (Amendment) Bill: A Bigoted Law That Must Be Immediately Repealed

The Citizenship (Amendment) Bill passed by the Indian Parliament legitimises discrimination on the basis of religion and stands in clear violation of the Constitution of India and international human rights law, Amnesty India said in a press communication. The Bill, while inclusionary in its stated objective, is exclusionary in its structure and intent. It amends the Citizenship Act of 1955 to enable irregular migrants to acquire Indian citizenship through naturalisation and registration.
