Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has alleged a nefarious KMSS-Maoist nexus to monger more trouble in the state. Addressing a press conference a week after the Dispur clash, Gogoi said he would go by the probe report. The Maoists are working in Assam in the guise of a section of peasant organization activists. He further announced Rs 3 lakh each of those who were killed in the Dispur clash. He said he would not allow any organization or leader to violate the law.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi faces flak minutes after he alleged KMSS-Maoist link. Reacting sharply to the Chief Minister’s allegation on Tuesday, the peasant body president Raju Baruah said they have not even an iota of nexus with the Maoists.
Baruah, however, urged a section of media houses to exercise restraint while covering incidents like the Dispur clash on June 22. The sharp reaction came hours after chief minister Tarun Gogoi alleged that a number of elements are carrying out Maoist activities under a disguise.
