24 hrs Central Assam bandh tomorrow by Tiwa organization


Allegeing negligencence shown by the state Government towards the Tiwa community people , All Tiwa Students Union ( ATSU ) , Tiwa Yuva Chatra Parishad, Tiwa Mahila Santha , and Tiwa Surakhya Samiti have called for a 24 hour Central Assam Bandh tomorrow from 5 a.m. In a statement issued by the organizations it is said that the government’s negligence over the problems faced by the Tiwa community for a long thime has bounded the organigations to launch a series of agitations and tomorrow’s Assam Bandh is a part of it. The statement further said that the organizations will go for a National Highway blockade programme from 10 a.m. on 1st September, Rail blockade on September 12, and 36 hrs Central Assam bandh from 5 a.m. on September 19.


The organizations further demanded of the government to appoint the Tiwa language teachers in all the primary schools in Tiwa community occupied areas and inclusion of the Tiwa Autonomous areas in the sixth schedule of the Constitution , reservation of the tribal belt areas etc.
