Ananda Ram Baruah Award presented to meritorious students in Karbi Anglong


The Ananda Ram Baruah Award for the year 2011 has been presented to 299 meritorious students in Karbi Anglong district on Wednesday in a function held at Diphu Club Hall by Education department, Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC).


On the occasion, a gorgeous function was organized where Joy Ram Engleng, CEM, KAAC, Rakesh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner, Karbi Anglong district attended the function as chief and invited guests. The award presentation function was presided over by Mongal Sing Engti, Chairman, KAAC and object of the meeting was explained by L Jarbansa, Inspector of Schools, KAAC.


Before distribution of Laptops to the meritorious students, KAAC CEM, Joy Ram Engleng delivered students inspiring speech. Addressing the Students, Engleng urged students to play proactive role in every walk examination for better future of society and areas. Besides, Engleng also exhorted guardians took part in the function to create a congenial atmosphere for higher studies for their children.



Taking part the award presentation function, Rakesh Kumar, DC, Karbi Anglong district also delivered students inspiring speech. It may be mentioned here that to each 299 student, secured first division in the High School Leaving Certificate Examination final examination for the year 2011 was presented with one laptop as Ananda Ram Baruah Award.


During the function, meritorious students comprising Luni Devi of Sankardeb Vidya Niketan, Diphu and Harlonbi Hanse of Holy Family English School, Japorajan distributed Laptops each symbolically by CEM, Joy Ram Engleng.


Subsequently, other students were also distributed laptops by the officials of the education department.
