Our special correspondent Guwahati : A full scale fratricidal clash may rock Assam if the words of surrendered ULFA leaders are any indication.

In a statement released here on Wednesday evening, some SULFA leaders have warned the ULFA to abstain from killing their colleagues like Rinku Chaudhory to avoid consequences.Signed by Sunil Nath, Jugal Kishor Mahanta, Saurabh Gogoi, Rosevelt Rabha, Mridul Phukan, Sailen Dutta Konwar, Amal Das and Pratap Das, the statement further urged the government to ensure security to the surrendered ULFA cadres.

The ULFA has claimed responsibility for killing their former colleague Rinku Chaudhory. Hira Sarania (ULFA spokesman) has confirmed that he has been killed because of his past misdeeds.

The government has decided to keep a close watch on the Guwahati based surrendered SULFA leaders According to reliable sources, the police administration will maintain a strict vigil on the city areas where the SULFA leaders reside. They will also monitor the movements of people around the SULFA members in the city.

Moreover, the police are also preparing to make a survey of all rented houses to identify if there are any ULFA people residing with a false identity. It is suspected that there are a lot of ULFA activists in the city's rented houses who want to step up the terrorist activities in the city through bombings and shoot outs.

On the other hand, the extremists group is also quickly changing its cadres operating in the city following the steps for strict vigil by the police.

Highly placed intelligence reports here says the cadres operating in upper Assam are rushing to the city areas to escape the vigil while the city cadres are leaving for the upper Assam places.

Some dogs are surrendered and some dogs are not. But both the dogs are biting our motherland Assam. These dogs should die. If they kill each other let them do that. They will be of any use to Assam only when they are dead.

Akhil targets Newslive, shows proof

KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi on Saturday targeted a satellite TV news channel alleging that a reporter of the channel was actively involved on the Guwahati molestation incident. Akhil demands Prez rule in Assam

KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi on Friday demands President’s Rule in Assam to bail out the state from the worsening law and order situation. Talking to reporters, Gogoi said that Guwahati is teeming with lumpen elements and criminals where the people have no safety and security. He further demanded a CBI probe into the incident saying that the incident suggests total collapse of law and order in the state. Proceed with strict action: PC to CM

Union Home Minister P Chidambaram on Friday asked Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi to strictly deal with the perpetrators in the Guwahati molestation case. Talking to reporters in Chandigarh, Chidambaram strongly condemned the brutal molestation of a girl in Guwahati. 1 more arrested in RS Road case

Police have arrested one more youth in connection with the recent molestation case on the GS Road. Operation is on to nab 8 others culprits who outraged the modesty of a teen aged girl in full view of a crowd on Monday. 3 NDFB militants killed in shoot-out

Three suspected NDFB cadres were gunned down during an encounter with security forces in Goalpara district on Friday. According to police, the encounter took place during an operation in Salpara around in the wee hours. In the retaliatory firing, three cadres were killed, while the rest two managed to escape. Woman dead in mobile charging

A woman died of electrocution when she was trying to charge her mobile phone in Kamrup (Rural) district on Friday. The incident took place in the morning in Pitambar Hat Bajali village, when the woman jolted as she put the mobile charger to the switch and fell unconscious in her house of the district. Identifiedas Lalita Kumar, she was rushed to the Rangiya Civil Hospital hospital where she was declared brought dead.
