Illegal stone quarries in Nazira

Stone quarries are illegally operating at Bihubor under Nazira sub-division. Bihubor is famous for its stone reserves and most of Upper Assam is dependent on it. The State Forest Department earn crores of rupees from Bihubor stone quarries annually. With the help of a few forest officials two influential businessmen illegally set up 2 stone quarries at Bihubor. The quarries run without legal permits and required settlement permissions at the behest of the forrest officials. More so the businessmen duo extract stones by digging as deep as 60 ft by the River Dikhow.
