Sadhana Das passes away

Sadhana Das (69 years), wife of a benevolent social worker of Jorhat Jiten Das has left her mortal body on 21st June, 2007 at Dispur Hospital, Guwahati. She has left behind her husband, her only son Mr. Jyotimoi Das and her two daughters along with many other relatives.

Addl Chief Secy to probe Dhola firing

GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has instituted a high level probe into the Dhola clash where a local resident was killed in police firing on Wednesday. MONGOLDOI: One person died and many others sustained injury when police resorted to open firing to disperse a group of protestors who turned violent after a local worker died in police custody at Dhola in Darrang district on Wednesday. MONGOLDOI: An uneasy situation grips in Dhola near Darrang when an irate mob clashed with police alleging the death of a local worker in police custody. ULFA-I rebels dead in Tinsukia gunbattle
