Sadhana Das passes away

Sadhana Das (69 years), wife of a benevolent social worker of Jorhat Jiten Das has left her mortal body on 21st June, 2007 at Dispur Hospital, Guwahati. She has left behind her husband, her only son Mr. Jyotimoi Das and her two daughters along with many other relatives.

ULFA calls statewide Assam bandh on Monday

ULFA's anti-talk faction calls a 24 hour statewide Assam bandh in protest against Prime Minister DR Monmohan Singh's visit to campaign in Assam for the Assembly polls. Blast beside Rajiv Bhawan in Guwahati

Two Congress workers have been injured at a powerful grenade blast in front of the Rajiv Bhawan in Guwahati. The blast took place at around 6-50 in the evening. Party spokesmen Mehdi Alom Bora and Ranjon Bora have been injured in the blast. The duo have been rushed to the hospital.
