An undentified dead body of a person, age 35 approximately, was found at the boundary wall of one Tankeshwas Saulkora's residence at  Monipuri Borkola village, Simaluguri. The dead body was hanging in a suspicious position on the wall.Police investigation is going on in this regard.

Thousands of people came out of their houses in Nazira to join the NRC awareness campaign on Saturday. Organized by Nazira AASU unit, the awareness rally got overwhelming response from all sections of the society. Over thousands of AASU activists took part in the rally who appealed to the people to submit their NRC form as soon as possible. Several ethnic groups in Assam are facing identity crisis only because of globalization if Rofikul Hussain Baruah is to be believed.Talking to reporters in Nazira on Tuesday, the renown historian said that the identity of the the indigenous communities including Tai Ahom, Mech Kachari, Deuri, Goria,Moria are on the verge of extinction. He feared that these ethnic communities may lost their own identity in their homeland.According to him, these people have already lost their right over land and resources in all the major cities and towns of Assam. ONGC hospital in Dec

ONGC will start its state-of-the-art hospital in Rajabari in December this year.This was what AASU told reporters in Nazira after a meeting with the oil major officials on Thursday.ONGC officials further agreed to implement other promises in the meeting with AASU leaders in Jorhat. The satisfied AASU leaders called off the 100 hour recent strike. HR director DD Mishra, Alok Mishra, VK Barma and executive director of the Assam Asset Budhin Deuri,  Ex.central secretary of AASU Tapan Gogoi, district president Manik Gogoi and district secretary Guvin Phukon attended the meeting.

Rijit Konwar of Nazira Higher Secondary & Mulit Purpose School secored 10th position in the HSLC examination 2015. He   got totel  587 marks. NRC in Nazira and Sivasagar

Though several organizations are voicing their opinion on the process of NRC, the Government of Assam is all up to complete the task of updation. In Nazira rural some 50 per cent people are not aware of the NRC updation. The indigenous communities have kept away from collecting NRC data from available sources on the pretext that they are indigenous. They perceive it as a matter of insult to their native origin and ego.Similar is the condition of the indigenous populations of the district of Sibsagar.
