Golds for Assam Karate players

Assam players won golds at the International Invitation Karate Championship 2013 held at University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka on June 9.

The winners are Manjit Dihingia – 2 Golds, Raju Kachari – 1 Gold, Dipu Tanti – 1 Gold and Sushmita Paul – 1 Gold.

A 12 hour bandh seems to have disrupted normal life in Goalpara from early in the morning a day after a person was killed when police resorted to firing to disperse two groups of people who clashed with other.Roads are wearing a deserted look as all vehicles are off from early in the morning. One horn terror revisits Bokakhat. A rhino strayed away from the Kaziranga unleashed no less terror in the outskirt of the National park.Local residents in Kanutika spotted the animal while it attacked a local villager.Identified as Sanjay Santhal, the villager has been rushed to the hospital. Forest officials are guarding the animal and have been trying to push it back to Kaziranga.   
Yet another full grown leopard was captured in Guwahati on Tuesday.Forest department officials captured the animal in Birubari area in the city.According to information, acting on the information of the movement of a leopard from the local residents, the officials laid a trap where the leopard landed in the wee hours.
