Five minor boys have been arrested for allegedly gang raping a 12-year-old at Guwahati. The incident took place at Hatigaon area in the city on Sunday.
The girl was gang-raped near her home on at night in the absence of her mother who was a daily wage earner.
The five boys aged between 12 to 16 years allegedly called her outside the house. Her mother lodged the FIR at the Basistha police station. All the five boys have been taken into custody. They would be produced in the Juvenile Court here on Wednesday. After medical examination, she was sent to the State Home for Women for her rehabilitation.
