Polling nearing end

Over 95 per cent legislators exercised their franchise in the Rajya Sabha polls in Dispur for three seats in the Upper House on Friday.

Despite shortage of votes for Haidor Hussain, the vote of an AGP legislator is likely to be cancelled. According to information, Sotea MLA Padma Hazarika gave a tick mark in favour of the Opposition consensus candidate which is not allowed by the laid down guidelines.

Independent MLA Hitesh Basumatary exercise his franchise in favour of BPF candidate. Barring a three or four, all legislators have casted their votes.
