32 lamps to mark Assam Accord failure

A huge meeting by All Assam Students Union in Udalguri on Monday expressed grave concern over the failure to detect and deport the immigrants from the state even 32 years after the Assam Accord was signed. 


In his address, AASU assistant general secretary in Udslguri Jayanta Kumar Bhattacharya said the immigrants ate still s huge threat to the entire nation which needs to be seriously dealt with seriously. 


He said,” Though political parties kept on changing both in state and central but no government showed any keen interest in implementation of the historic Assam Accord.”


The student leader expressed grave concern over enchroachment of lands in Tribal belt and blocks of state,government lands,Satra lands,reserve forests and protected areas by illegal immigrants.


Bhattacharya exhorted both the state and central government for sealing of porous Indo-Bangla border, the implementation of the Assam Accord in truest term for the greater interest of the indigenous people of the state.


Many prominent people and students attrnded thr meeting held  under the aegis of Tangla regional AASU unit was attended by Saiful Haque General Secretary Udalguri district unit, Pranjal Deka President ,Rinku Deka Secretary Tangla unit among family member of the martyrs .The 855 martyrs who sacrificed their lives were also paid tribute on the ocassion.
