ABSU opposses expert committee

The All Bodo Students union(ABSU) and its allied organisations opposed the commisioned of “One Man Expert Committee” naming it national policy for the solution of Bodoland issue from BJP led NDA government.

The Kokrajhar district unit of students union and its allied organisation like BPPF,UDPF and People joint Action Committee for Bodoland Movement(PJACBM) today submitted a memorandum to Narendra Modi,Prime Minister of India through Kokrajhar Deputy Commissioner opposing the assuming of office of one man expert committee headed by GK Pillai, former Union Home Secretary  and termed that the expert committee can’t meet peramenet solution of Bodoland issue.

The memorandum stated that Bodos democratic movement for separate state of Bodoland has marked its 47 years but it has genuinely and politically not been addressed as yet.Interestingly enough, during these periods,Meghalaya(1971),Arunachal Pradesh(1972),Nagaland(1975),Mizoram(19860,Jharkhand(2000),Chhatisgarh(2000) and Uttaranchal(2000) were created without much heisittaion. It is aware of the fact that Telangana one more new state in south India is just created. But then, the genuine issue of 45 yaers of Bodos aspiration of the separtae state of Bodoland has once again deliberately been turned aside due to continued plitical conspiracy, supression, oppression and deprivation of dominant main stream society of Assam and due to the utter negligence of the government of India.Despite of two Bodo accords that were signed between Bodo leaders and the government of India in 1993 and 2003,resulting creation of Bodoalnd Autonomous Council and Bodoland Territorial Council respectively, but these two accords could not fulfilled the needs of Bodos and other communities living in the proposed Bodoland only because of the mere economic package on anture rather than a sincere and legitimate political solution. The one man expert committee headed by Pillai is not accepted which directed under the ministry of home ministry during the period of last UPA II government, and was sought by the ruling BPF party in BTC administration for their vested party interest and diue to its nature of time buy plitics. The memorandum also said that during the UPA gpvernent, the third round tri-partite talk has already held on the same issue in between Assam and union govt headed by ABSU and demanded eraly solution of long pending deamand of Bodoalnd issue.
