Arunachal students not to loose land

The All Arunachal Pradesh Students Union (AAPSU) decided to meet the Prime Minister and Union Home Minister for State Kiren Rijiju to show its resentment over the recent Naga Peace Accord signed between central government and and National Socialist Council of Nagaland (IM) on August 3 last.

Addressing the media at Press Club of Arunachal at  Itanagar on Wednesday, AAPSU President Kamta Lapung said "we are not against any strategy to maintain peace amongst the northeastern state or insurgent groups rather we welcome the decision of GoI but we are totally against conceding our inch of territory for greater Nagaland as the accord was signed without the consent of concern northeastern state like Arunachal Pradesh".

He further added that team of AAPSU has already met Aunachal Chief Minister Nabam Tuki and submitted a memorandum  urging to hold all party meeting on the issue. ‘Decision taken by the GoI without the consent of concerned states is not at all acceptable, things will be settled only through proper dialogue’ added Lapung.

People living in Tirap, Changlang and Longding (TCL) district where the NSCN element are more active are in total fear-psychosis  due o recent Naga Peace accord’ said APPSU General Secretary Biru Nasi. Stating that Nasi asserted that statement given by the General Secretary of NSCN(IM)  Thuingaleng Muivah on ‘Sovereignty  and Integrity’ of Naga people  on its 69th Naga Independence  is itself a  intimidation for indigenous  Arunachalee . ‘We support peace initiative but TCL is the integral part of Arunachal and we will not going to compromise our area at any cost, he added.

AAPSU's spokes person Tanya Agu  further added the beside PM and Rijiju, the team will also knock the door of R N Ravi who was the  negotiator for the Naga peace talks.

As per government record Nagaland based NSCN insurgent groups are more active in three district of Arunachal Pradesh Tirap, Changlang and Longding for last many decades.
