AYUSH hospital opening up in Nov

Days are not far when the North Eastern Institute of Folk Medicine will open in Pasighat. It is going to be completed in the first week of November. Hindustan Life-care Limited officials informed it to Chief Minister’s adviser Bosiram Siram when he was visiting the construction work of the said AYUUSH hospital on Thursday. 

Siram inspected the three storied building which include the administrative block in the ground floor, 50 beds indoor patients ward in the first floor and research laboratories in the second floor. 

He informed that the Rs 32.88 Crores project was approved by the earlier Union Cabinet chaired by the then Prime Minister Monmohan Singh in the year 2008 to facilitate systematic and comprehensive documentation, presentation and validation of the folk medicine traditions of the region had decided to establish an institute based on AYUSH research at Pasighat

DC Isha Khosla hoped the institute will upgrade the skills of the local traditional/folk medicine practitioners and integrated into the mainstream healthcare system for wide uses by the public.  

NEIFM Director Otem Dai briefed the dignitaries about present status and upcoming development of the institute. He further informed that presently there are three folk healers and one Ayurveda doctor are treating the patients on regular basis and plantation of medicinal plants and research works are underway.
