Capacity Building Programme on Agri-Export Opportunities Held at Dudhnoi
Dudhnoi, May 22: A day-long capacity building programme for agri-export oriented stakeholders was organized by Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority in collaboration with ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra Goalpara at the KVK campus in Dudhnoi on May 18, 2026.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from nearly 80 farmers and members of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) and Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs) from different parts of Goalpara district. The initiative aimed to create awareness about export opportunities in the agricultural sector and equip stakeholders with knowledge on export procedures and support mechanisms.
The programme began with a welcome address by Dr. Santosh Kumar Baishya, Principal Scientist and Head of KVK Goalpara. Dr. Saju Adhikary, BDM, APEDA Regional Office, Guwahati delivered a detailed PowerPoint presentation on the scope and procedures for export of agricultural commodities. He also elaborated on various technical and financial assistance schemes offered by APEDA to promote agri-exports.
Mr. Kanchanmoni Gohain, AGM of National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), Goalpara, spoke on financing opportunities for agro-based enterprises. Later, Mr. Debashis Nath, DAO i/c, Goalpara, highlighted the export potential of agricultural commodities produced in Goalpara district.
An interactive session was also held where participating farmers discussed issues related to supply chains, market access, and export-related challenges. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Hitu Choudhury, CTO, KVK Goalpara.
