Internecine clashes between UTLA groups leave 3 dead

Three militants, including one woman, belonging to the SK Thadou group of United Tribal Liberation Army (UTLA) were killed when a gun fight erupted with a group of militants suspected to be that of UTLA (Poukhai) at Muktakhal village within Jiribam district in the wee hours of Sunday.  

According to a report, the encounter happened around 12:30 am. But another report said unidentified assailants numbering about eight launched an attack using sophisticated weapons at the designated camp of UTLA located near Kaiphundai village on the fringe of Jiribam, killing three cadres at the spot just after midnight.  

The slain cadres have been identified as Ngamboi, 22, Mangmimlen, 20, and Hatsei, 25, wife of one Chonchon.
