NTPC Bongaigaon Signs MoA for ₹13.28-Crore Archery Academy in Mizoram

KOKRAJHAR, October 13, 2026 — NTPC Bongaigaon, Salakati, has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Mizoram State Sports Council (MSSC) to establish an Archery Academy at Lengpui in Mamit district, Mizoram, under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.

Signed on October 8, the agreement involves a financial commitment of ₹13.28 crore (₹1,328.11 lakh) for the three-year infrastructure project aimed at nurturing grassroots sporting talent in the Northeast.

The MoA was signed in the presence of Mizoram Sports and Youth Services Minister Lalnghinglova Hmar, MSSC Secretary Henry C. Lalrawnkima and NTPC Additional General Manager (HR) Amit Kumar Asthana, along with other officials.

The proposed academy will provide aspiring archers with professional coaching, modern equipment and structured training to prepare them for district-, state- and national-level competitions. It will focus particularly on young athletes from Mizoram and neighbouring areas.

The Mizoram State Sports Council will implement and maintain the academy, while NTPC Bongaigaon will provide financial assistance and monitor the project's progress.

The initiative aims to strengthen sports infrastructure, expand opportunities for young athletes and promote long-term sports development across the Northeast.
