Young Nazira Karateka Wins Double Gold at National Championship

NAZIRA, August 5, 2026 — Young karate athlete Saiyeda Nabiha Rahman has brought laurels to Nazira by winning two gold medals at the National Karate and Open Martial Arts Championship held in Jorhat.

A resident of Nazira town, Nabiha is the only daughter of Saiyed Moinur Rahman and Saiyeda Nafiya Haque. Representing the Sivasagar Kareng Karate Club, she won gold medals in both the Kata and Kumite events.

She also played a key role in helping her team secure the Best Team award at the championship.

Nabiha trains under the guidance of Sensei Tarit Dutta and Bimal Arandhara. Her achievement has been widely appreciated in Nazira, with residents congratulating the young athlete for bringing recognition to the town.

Her success is expected to inspire more young sportspersons in the region to pursue karate and other martial arts.
