Believe Group of Darwin School of Business (DSB) had organized one day awareness programme on HIV AIDS at its campus premises on 19th, January which was supported by Assam State AIDS Control Society (ASACS). Resource person from National AIDS Control Organization(NACO), Global Organization of Life Development (GOLD) , Assam Network of Positive People spoke on the occasion. Siam Kullai spoke on HIV / AIDS and youth. He mentioned how youths are being infected with the disease and the risks associated with young people. Ranjit Singh a former drug user shared his experience with the audience. Rupali Das from ANP+ appealed to the participants of the seminar to be more concerned about HIV / AIDS so that people can remain safe from it. Dr T K Bharali, Dean of DSB inaugurated the seminar and spoke about DSB’s initiatives related to social development. The group had prepared some questionnaires which were filled up by the participants coming from different educational institute. The interactive session was addressed by the resource person as participants asked different questions after hearing the talks. Prize winners of the lucky draw were given by the resource person and Dr Biswaroop Bhattacharya, faculty of DSB. Ranjan K Baruah, Social Projects Coordinator of DSB appealed the youths to take up challenge for achieving Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) by combating diseases like HIV/AIDS. Documentaries like ‘Blood Brothers’ by Vishal Bharadwaj and ‘Positive’ by Farhan Akhtar were screened during the seminar for understanding on issue.
