Guwahati: Union home minister Amit Shah virtually threatened to firmly deal with the orgy of agitations in the state.
In his address at a crowded function in the outskirt of Guwahati city on Saturday without specifying any agitation, he said that the agitation will only create more martyrs and nothing else.
He said that Congress has patronized a number of regional parties to divide the BJP votes in 2021 assembly polls. "BJP will get absolute majority in the upcoming assembly polls. There is no doubt about it, " said the Union home minister.
Shah kept mum on the Citizenship (Amendment) Act 2019 which ran into a hail of protest across the state and relented temporarily only during the COVID19 endemic.
He claimed that only BJP government managed to stop rhino poaching and illegal settlement in the Kaziranga National Park. He further assured the people of steps to solve the perennial flood problem in the state if BJP retains the power.
Shah reached the city on Friday night and held a series of meetings with party leaders. He further discussed strategies for 2021assembly polls at a meeting of BJP-AGP-UPPL-GSP leaders.
Amid an unprecedented security and CCTV vigil, the High School Certificate examination and High Madrasa examination have begun across the state on Friday.The Assam state secondary education board is holding the examinations from 9 in the morning with 3,80,665 HSLC and 10, 647 HM candidates at 855 centres across the state.For the first time, the secondary education board is holding the examinations amid tight security deploying policemen to ensure normalcy. Poachers have killed yet another rhino in the Kaziranga National Park for horn triggering anger among the cross section of the people who blamed the authority for it.The incident took place early in the morning in the Burhapahar range if the park near the Tunikati camp where the poachers shot a full fledged rhino dead and took away the horn.Forest guards spotted the animal in the morning. “We don't understand why the forest guards are ill prepared which is why one after another rhino is killed for horn.
