Gogoi’s effigy burnt in Nazira

Chief minister Tarun Gogoi’s language card to win the by polls in three Barak valley constituencies continues to draw protest across the state.

The Brihottar Asomiya Youva Mancha in Nazira burnt the effigy of Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Thursday in protest against his recent circular on the official language.

Led by BAYM president Ranjan Mahanta, over 200 activists thronged the Nazira town and burnt Gogoi effigy apart from shouting slogans against the government.
