Students from a US school were excited to have interacted with their counterparts Nagaon district on Saturday. They came to the state as part of an effort to promote science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education in India. Comprising six juniors and seniors from West Fargo High School in North Dakota in US, they took up the unique and ambitious effort to promote science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education in India and interacted with the students of Nagaon Bengali Girls' High School. The West Fargo team will work with the Indian school. They made a strong presentation on STEM education which was followed by interactions with the Nagaon students with their teacher Nasset highlighting the importance of STEM and how it can help every student to better prepare for the challenges faced in everyday life. The team demonstrated their robot that "plays basketball and soccer" and went on to describe the intricate parts of the robot. With 30 students , the Nagaon team led by subject teacher Aparna Bhattacharjee was very excited to be involved in this programme and interacted with the US students in both Assamese and English.
