Despite stiff resistance from Arvind Kejriwal and his lobby senior IAS officer from Assam Shakuntala Gamlin took over as Delhi chief secretery. 

Shakuntala, the daughter of former minister Lalit Doley and wife of former Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Jarbom Gamlin has alleged intimidation by a section of bureacrates not to take over. 

He was Lt Governor Jung who appointed her in the top post defying the chief minister's opposition who calls her corrupt.

WE hope and pray you give a "NEW DELHI" FREE of Rape CRIMES in less than 6 months. THE BJP Home Ministry has let us down several time with the multiple rape incidence. Escalating tension in Raha

An escalating tension keeps Raha on the boil after a local resident died in police firing when he along with thousands of people enforced a bandh on the National Highway No 37 demanding the proposed AIIMS in the area. Local residents in large number thronged the vital road forcing police and para military forces to sprang upon them in the morning. A section of agitated people tried to attacked the convoy of MLA Piyush Hazarika on his way to the house of Mintu Deori, who was killed in Friday’s police firing. Earlier, the local residents grilled a group of ministers who visited the bereaved family members of the deceased protester.

Khandu stakes claim to form govt

Hours after he was elected as the CLP leader in Arunachal Pradesh, Pema Khandu staked claimed to form the new Government in Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday. Immediately after the CLP meeting in Itanagar, accompanied by Nabam Tuki, Kalikho Pul, Takam Sanjay and Podi Richo, the former chief minister’s son meet Governor Tathagat Roy and staked the claim. But before that in the morning, Tuki resigned as Chief Minister. These scheme of things have forced Roy to suspend the assembly floor test. The Assembly has a strength of 58 which comprises 11 from and 2 independents and 45 from Congress. Khandu is expected to take the oath in a day or two.

Another jolt for BJP

The high voltage political drama in Arunachal Pradesh is a staggering blow for BJP. The saffron party legislators gave outside support to the Kalikho Pul Government after the Centre lifted the president’s Rule. According to the Congress legislators, BJP played a crucial role in the drama where Pul managed to grab the hot seat. “The dissidence by Kalikho Pul and his associates gathered momentum when they got direct support from a circle of BJP leaders in New Delhi. Pul and his associates stayed in New Delhi for several months formulating strategies to dislodge Tuki. Without Centre’s connivance it would have not been possible for Pul to grab the seat,” said a Congress leader in New Delhi...

Ministers face peoples’ ire in Raha

A group of ministers faced no less wrath of the local people in Raha on Saturday when they visited the family members of Mintu Deori who was killed in police firing on the national Highway No 37. Comprising Chandra Mohan Patowary, Hitendra Nath Goswami, Keshab Mahanta, the team had to face the ire as they promised Rs 5 lakh ex gratia in addition to a government job to one of his family members. Local residents in large numbers surrounded the ministers and questioned them their role in the entire scheme of things. “What forces the government to ignore the expert committee recommendation? If it so happens they why the government set up the panel?,” a local resident asked the ministers....

High voltage drama: Khandu Arunachal CM

The high voltage political drama in Arunachal Pradesh takes a strange development in the just concluded Congress Legislative Party meeting much to a major disappointment for BJP. Kalikho Pul and long his supporters dramatically came back to Congress and attended the CLP meeting in Itanagar where Pema Khandu was elected the Chief Ministerial candidate. The floor test is slated for 1 in the afternoon. All Congress legislatures resolved to work unitedly to keep the party vibrant where both Kalikho Pul and Namab Tuki agreed to end the differences.

Eerie silence in Raha

An eerie silence prevails at Raha in Nagaoan district a day after a local boy was killed in police firing on a group of protesters who demanded AIIMS in the area. Several local organizations have strongly come out in protest against the firing incident where identified as Mintu Deori was killed. Local shops and markets have refused to open in the area. The Government offices have registered a thin attendance on Saturday. But the local organizations and individuals are stick to the demands for the proposed AIIMS in Raha. Road accident claims 1

One person was killed when a passenger carrying bus Binapani express (AS13 3681) collided with a Mahindra Bolero vehicle (TR-01 V 0226) at NH-31 Dhakpara area under Baihata Charali PS on Thursday. The bus was on its way from Guwahati to Tangla when it collided with the Bolero at Baihata Chariali. The driver of the Bolero died as an impact of the accident critically injuring four passengers of the Bolero, police said. The injured have been rushed to Tola Ram Bafna Civil Hospital, Amingaon. The dead have not been identified till the filling of this report.

In yet another blow to the poll-hit Congress in Assam, a sitting legislator has joined BJP on Thursday. He is none other than Mansing Rongpi who deserted the opposition party much to the delight of the ruling BJP. Rebel Congress leader Kalikho Pul refused to step down even a day after the Supreme Court reinstated Nabam Tuki as Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister.
