Protests against powergrid construction
Former Assam Minister and Kokrajhar east MLA Pramila Rani Brahma and villagers of Balagaon Bazar strongly comedown heavily on Powergrid Corportaion and protested the construction of high voltage electricity pillars through the villages under Kokrajhar Police station.
Villagers of Balagaon Bazar and teacher staffs of No.772 Balagaon LP school protested the construction of High Voltage of Power construction under POWERGRID through the villages of Kokrajhar area which will affects humidity and social integration in the area.
MLA Brahma protested the forcefully construction power pillars at the village and visited the construction site today and took stock of the situation.
She has strongly condemned the steps taken from Powergrid company to construct power pillars in the villages and termed that it was anti-people activity from govt itself.
She has demanded early stop of construction power pillars through humidity region.
Brahma has also warned to step strong measures against powergrid company if they do not stop their construction through villages in future.

A businessman was hospitalized after attacked with sharp weapon by miscreants at Champa bazaar area on Friday evening in Kokrajhar district. He was identified as Tamizaddin Anza ri (32) of Mozabari area. He was immediately rushed to Kokrajhar RNB civil hospital and stated to be critical. Details is awaited.

An emergency response mock drill was conducted by the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) at Habrubari in Kokrajhar district on Friday,which was a part of offsite emergency mock on the IOCL Guwahati-Siliguri underground pipeline to test the preparedness of its emergency personnel.
