Dr Birubala Rabha conferred UN Brahma award
Noted social activist and organiser of Mission Birubala Dr Birubala Rabha was conferred the 12th Upendra Nath Brahma Soldier of Humanity Award, 2015 at a function held at Commerce College auditorium hall today in Kokrajhar.
The award has been giving every year in the name of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma, former president of the All Bodo Students Union ( ABSU) and noted educationist by Upendra Nath Brahma Trust (UNBT) to keep alive of ideology and philosophy among society.
The award carries a citation, momento, traditional Aronai and cash 50,000.
Dr. Rabha accepting the award expressed her happiness said that it has encouraged more to work to the social protection among society. She said that she will gain more step to create awareness more on social protection and humanity.

Kokrajhar DC reviewed the ongoing process of verification of application forms and documents submitted by the public for inclusion in NRC in Chirang district on Thursday. Deputy Commissioner,Chirang Rupak Kumar Mazumdar while presiding over the meeting at Kajalgaon asked all the LRCRs to inform about their progress report of digitization of NRC forms, verification of particulars and documents. An awareness meeting on artificial insemination and calf rally, organised by ICDP, BTC in association with Veterinary officer, key village centre, Kokrajhar was held at Balajan near Bodoland University in Kokrajhar today. At least two persons received serious injury and former BTC MCLA Madhav Karki along with his son, somehow safe in separate two road mishaps late last night along the 31(C) National Highway near Bismuri in Kokrajhar district. According to a injured person, a bike head on collided with a Tata mobile van bearing registration AS16C-0383.
