 An incompleted highway project has forced a local organization in BTAD to hit the streets in Kokrajhar on Tuesday.

The road project in question is 50km four-lane highwayfrom Srirampur to Karigaon which has been taking a long time to be completed.

“Enough is enough. We won’t be a mute spectator. We will register protest against non-completion of the four-lanehighway on Tuesday,” PCDR leaders told Assam Times.

They observed, “The NHAI project was started several years back. But it is still under construction. Why the authorities are buying so much time?,”

“We don’t understand why the 50km four-lane highwayfrom Srirampur to Karigaon is yet to be completed. Why it takes so much time to build a bridge and some culverts between Kachugaon and Karigaon. We are bearing the brunt,” they alleged.

BPF leaves three more seats to BJP

The Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) has left three constituencies- Sorbhog, Rangia and Bhawanipur to the Bharatiya Janata party (BJP), its ally party. Motor vehicle association warns for non-cooperation in election

The owner and members of the Motor Vehicles in Kokrajhar has warned to take non-cooperation during ensuing Assam assembly election in protest against non-payment of 32 crores of hire charge bills and previous bills of vehicles, which are pending for a long time in the district.
