BTC-Army goodwill league from Sept 27

Preparations are going on in full swing to organise first time ever in BTC region which would be beginning from September 27 involving four districts of the council. 

Speaking the reporters today at a  joint press meet held at BTC Secretariat conference hall SM Ismail, Brigadier of the Army and BTC executive member for sports & youth welfare department Doneswar Goyary said that the football premier league 2015 will begin on September 27 at two fields in Kokrajhar and Udalguri district involving respective district sports official and association.

Ismail said thst the football premier league has been organising to tap the unexplored potential of the youth in BTAD as also to promote unity and spread goodwill among the peoples. 

'The event is intended to showcase sporting talent in the region and inspire youth to pursue sports. Scouts from various league clubs are expected to attend the event to identify the budding talent and guide players on the way ahead.The event will provide a platform for people from all sections of society to come together for a common passion, thereby enhancing the spirit of unity while promoting peaceful in the region', Ismail added.  

Goyary said that BTC administration and Army have for the first time joined hands to provide a common platform for unleashing the passion of youth in the four districts in the council to demonstrate their talent in the most popular football sport in the area.He said thathere are ten clubs one each from ten subdivisions of the four districts are participating in the league and final match would be played on October 18 at SAI ground  in Kokrajhar. 

The winning team would be awarded a trophy and cadh two lakh and runner up be given away a trophy and cash one lakh in the final match.

Organizing such tournament is good for society. But it is very unfortunate to organized this tournament untill and unless a pregnant woman who was gang raped by two Indian Army personals get justice and culprits are punish. Its very confusing . . . .

An IED weighing of around 4 kgs was recovered from Jadumani village under Fakiragram police station late last night, a day ahead of parliamentary election result counting tomorrow in Kokrajhar. Police said that getting tiptop information about the IED police raided the area and recovered the IED last night wee hour from a house. Police arrested two persons identified as Kripa Roy and Jayanta Roy for involving keeping with IED which was kept by KLO militants. Assam Police and CRPF jawans apprehended a person and recovered huge arms and ammunitions on Sunday evening at Chapaguri in Chirang district. Security forces intercepted a Maruti WagonR with one M16 Rifle, silencer, one .303 rifle and 140 round ammunitions. Police arrested three persons in connection with the killing of AIUDF leader Suleman Ali Mandal in Gossaigaon on Thursday.Familiy members said that Suleman was murdered late last by three youth of the same village at around 11.30 pm when they called for night duty in the village. BPF President and BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary demanded more police station and police outpost in the BTAD area to counter militancy as well as anti-social activity.
