Stolen bike recovered in Raha
The Raha Police recovered a bike stolen from Dighaliati village under Raha police station on Monday morning. According to police the bike was owned by one Kangkon Jyoti Bhuyan, an inhabitant of Dighaliati village. According to the information received, the bike bearing no. AS-02-G 3296 went missing since Sunday night at around 12.55 a.m. from the owner's residence.
“The stolen bike was spotted at a field covered with dense shrubs in the early hours on Monday by some locals of the area upon which the police was informed," police said. Police suspect that the bike lifters dumped the bike there failing to start it due to some technical snag. Further investigation is on. No one has been arrested till now in this connection.

RAHA: A dreaded dacoit died and another sustained serious injury when a gang war took place in Nagaon on Sunday. The incident took place at Nagabandha in the wee hours where a group of armed dacoits were travelling on a vehicle. As they reached Juria suddenly they spotted another gang and started gun firing at each other. The incident took place in Chapormukh area at around 11.30 in the morning as they were bathing on the river Kopili. Suddenly, the river water current washed Akash Rai and Mukti Prasad Bora—both studying in Hansora School who failed to bail out of the strong undercurrent. Acting on a tip off the policeman on the National Highway No 37 seized the five trucks loaded with coal early in the morning.
