Incentive to brilliant students in BTC

Altogether five brilliant students who secured positions in the last HSLC and HS examinations for the year 2014 & 2015 were  felicitated and handed over cheque amounting Rs 2 lakhs each by the Director of Education, BTC .

BTC deputy chief, handed over the cheques at his office chamber at the BTC Secretariat in Kokrajhar today. 

Among the students receiving the cheques are Hriday Jyoti Ojha from National Pioneer College, Tangla of Ualguri, who stood 5th position in the HS in 2014, Ashim Majumdar of St John’s HS school, Barama of Baksa who stood 4th position in the HSLC in 2015, Bibekajyoti Boro of Sankardev Vidyaneketan, Tamulpur in Baksa, 10 position in the HSLC in 2015, Aithjhya Bhaduri and Priyasa Kundu, both  of Bongaigaon Refinery HS school, Dhaligaon in Chirang and secured 5th and 8th position respectively in the HSLC 2015.

Borgoyary said that the BTC authority was   working to encourage the students to work hard and council will be giving helping hand to brilliant students who are aspired tithe good career in their higher studies. He said 18 students from the Bodoland region who have been selected and got admitted in the IIT and IIM will also be given the incentive for their higher studies. 

Borgoyary also said that BTC authority will give scholarships to 25-30 brilliant students preparing for UPSC examination from the region.

Gossaigaon Global Sports Academy has entered into final defeating Food Corporation of India (FCI),Guwahati in today’s second semi final match being played at Dhawliguri ground in Kokrajhar.Jwngbla Basumatary of Global scored his lone goal in 30th minutes of the first half against FCI and led the match 1-0. BTC executive member for Transport Department James Basumatary distributed Tata Wingers and Auto Rickshaws to boost alternative employment in a function held at the BTC Secretariat Complex at Bodofa Nwgwr in Kokrajhar on Wednesday. About 200 Tata Wingers and Auto Rickshaws were given away to educated unemployed youths of ten sub-divisions in four districts of the council under Bodoland Vikash Yajana (BVY) through the Chief’s Discretionary Fund. BTC EM Basumatary said that the council distributed the vehicles among the unemployed youths to supplement income generation and employment in the society under BVY. Earlier agriculture-tractors were distributed by the council.

Security forces claimed to have captured four dreaded militants along with an arms dealer in BTAD areas during the last 24 hours. The Bodoland Territorial Council is unhappy with Rockybul Hussain after the forest minister withdrew the AFPF forces from BTAD areas following the Ultapani incident where suspected NDFB-S militants took away arms from the forces at gunpoint.Speaking to reporters in Kokrajhar on Tuesday, BTC deputy chief Kampa Borgoyari said that the government has withdrawn AFPF without any intimation. “Rather the government should have engaged more forces for protection and conservation purpose,” said Borgoyari.He further asked NDFB(Songbijit faction) to return the arms they snatched from the eco task force in Ultapani for the greater interest of protection of forest and wildlife in the Bodoland region.
