The tribal bodies in Assam are contemplating to hit the streets opposing the move to accord ST status to 6 ethnic communities.
No organization has openly disclosed the disappointment. But they would come out to the streets in protest against the move.
The All Bodo Students’ Union has openly criticized against the move saying that the Centre’s decision is wrong. "We are dead opposed to the move. We won't remain silent if the government implement it," said an ABSU leader in New Delhi on Friday.
According to sources, other tribal organizations will equally oppose the move after the government announced its preparedness to accord ST status for Ahoms, Koch, Chutia, Adivasis, Muttocks and Morans.
