BP unified with BPF

In a well gesture of party strength of BPF ahead assembly election in Bodoland region of Assam, a grand unification of BPPF with BPF under the leadership of Rabiram Narzary, president of BPPF was held on SUnday at Tulungapuri Dotma if Lower Assam's Kokrajhar district. 

Narzary, was accompanied party general secretary and thousands of party activists and supporters, declared party's unified with BPF to create more development and unity among society in the region.  He said that his party come into unified to meet healthy and integrated through working of peace and prosperity. 

Hagrama Mohilary, BPF supremo and BTC chief, party MP, MLA, senior party leaders were also present on the unification function. 

It is to be noted that both Narzary and Mohilary factionised in BPPF and BPF party in 2005 after signing historical Bodo Accord in 2003. 

Mohilary has welcome Rabiram Narzary and party members in the meeting said that now his party become a grand unified. He also said that his party will score good result in the assembly election

Pramila deplores BBEC plights

Amid continuous agitation, Kokrajhar MLA Pramila Rani Brahma has expressed grave concern over the present situation of the Bineswar Brahma Engineering College(BBEC) at Chandrapara in the district.The former minister was on her stock taking visit to the college on Wednesday and talked to the college authorities and the agitating students.She agreed that college has yet to get a full fledged status of an engineering college apart from the lack of a permanent principal and faculty members to ensure proper educational facility for the students. She has slammed state government and director of the technical education alleging lack of steps for welfare of the students.

NDFB-S cadre arrested in Kokrajhar

Security forces in their step able to arrest another cadre of the NDFB-S from Basbari area under Bishmuri police out post this morning in a joint operation in Kokrajhar. Based input about presence of the militant outfit cadres in the area, a joint operation from Army and police conducted operation at Basbari area today and managed to arrest a NDFB-S cadre along with arms. The cadre was identified as Sandhulal Basumatary@Shakal@ Birkhang Basumatary. A country made pistol, three live rounds were recovered from him.

NDFB-S dy commandent held in Chirang

In a major success in the counter insurgency operation in BTAD areas, security forces captured a dreaded NDFB-S militant in Chirang district on Wednesday.Identified as Udiyachal Daimary@Udangcha, the deputy commandant of the Bodo insurgent outfit trained up in Myanmar was held from Runikhata area during a massive combing operation in wee hours.Police further claimed to have seized some arms and ammunition from his possession.

Concern over plight of engineering college

ABSU and AASU have expressed grave concern over the state of affairs that cripple the Bineswar Brahma Engineering College in Kokrajhar. The students have been resorting to repeated agitations for the last couple of months. But of n avail. The worst has yet to come if the authority fails to respond.AASU and ABSU have urged the college authority to take immediate measures to look in the demands.The students unions demanded early measures to ensure appointment of permanent principal, faculty, full fledged govt college, sufficient facilities of power supply, laboratory system in the college.

Adivasi Mahasabha to starts from Oct 4

A hectic preparation is in full swing to host 12th Adivasi Mahasabha with three days colourful programme scheduled at Magurmari High School ground from October 2 next in Kokrajhar district. Stephen Lakra, working president of the Reception Committee of the Mahasabha told that the Mahasabha has been organising to uplift social, literary and community integration of the Adivasi in Assam as well across the country. Over 2000 delegates from various districts of Assam are participating in the grand function, besides 50,000 people's thronged has been expected on the open session of the Mahasabha. NSLA ultra held in Gossaigaon

Security forces arrested a hard core  National Santali Liberation Army ultra during a joint operation in Kokrajhar on Tuesday.Identified as Wilson Murmu, he was picked up from Gurufella area in Gossaigaon in the wee hours. Police seized a 7.62 mm rifles and three live ammunitions from him. 

What ails BTAD goanburahs

Adivasi militant arrested in Kokrajhar

Security forces arrested a hardcore Adivasi Dragon Fighter (ADF) militant at Batabari village in Chirang district on Monday. Acting on secret inputs a joint team of police, army, SSB operation Mangal Murmu was captured. A live round of 9mm pistol and four mobile phones along with 2 simcards were seized from him.Mangal Murmu disclosed that he was an active cadre of the Adivashi Dragon Fighters. He further disclosed the names of other leaders of ADF. They include Supol Hembram, Mangal Hembram, Luthru Kisku Murmu.
