BP unified with BPF

In a well gesture of party strength of BPF ahead assembly election in Bodoland region of Assam, a grand unification of BPPF with BPF under the leadership of Rabiram Narzary, president of BPPF was held on SUnday at Tulungapuri Dotma if Lower Assam's Kokrajhar district. 

Narzary, was accompanied party general secretary and thousands of party activists and supporters, declared party's unified with BPF to create more development and unity among society in the region.  He said that his party come into unified to meet healthy and integrated through working of peace and prosperity. 

Hagrama Mohilary, BPF supremo and BTC chief, party MP, MLA, senior party leaders were also present on the unification function. 

It is to be noted that both Narzary and Mohilary factionised in BPPF and BPF party in 2005 after signing historical Bodo Accord in 2003. 

Mohilary has welcome Rabiram Narzary and party members in the meeting said that now his party become a grand unified. He also said that his party will score good result in the assembly election

DoNER minister visits flood-hit areas

Talking to reporters during his stock taking visit to Kokrajhar on Tuesday, the Union minister said the prompt response of the government helped the state minimize flood casualities.Accompanied by revenue minister Dr. Bhumidhar Barman and Guwahati MP Bijaya Chakraborty, Dr Singh visited the flood affected areas of Bongaigaon in a chartered helicopter and landed at Dhaligaon BGR stadium.Talking to media, he said Prime Minister and home minister are keeping close watched of the flood situation and that they have yet to receive the report on the extent of flood damages.

Das visits Chirang

Water resources minister Basanta Das visited the flood affected areas of Chirang district and assessed the loss of damages by the recent flood on Sunday.He visited the flood affected areas and Aie River bank erosion site at Dumgaon,  Palangsubari (Thulsijhora) and Goraimari as well as at Aipoali.Talking to reporters, Das said the excessive rainfall in the district had inundated several low lying areas and caused large scale destruction. The district administration has been asked to assess the loss and compensation to be given to the affected people.He was accompanied by MLA Bhupen Ray, BTC MCLAs Rwngwra Narzary, Maoti Brahma Hazowary, Nirmal Kr.Brahma and Chirang DC Rupak Kr. Mazumdar.

Anomalies on relief materials

The flood affected people at Joypur Namapara in Kokrajhar staged protest on Sunday alleging gross anomalies in the supply of relief materials at the instance of a circle of middleman.Flood affected villagers told reporters that some middlemen from the area received huge quantity of the relief rations from district administration. Stock-taking visit to Kokrajhar

Revenue minister Bhumidhar Barman and water resources minister Basanta Kumar Das visited Kokrajhar to take stock of the flood situation in the district on Saturday. The duo reviewed the situation at a meeting of district administration officials and MLAs and BTC administration representatives at the Circuit House in Kokrajhar. They visited Kokrajhar under direction of Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and took stock of the situation where two people lost their lives apart from damaging crops.

Delaying peace process with NDFB

Adivasi killer held in Chirang

Security forces captured yet another dreaded NDFB (Songbijit) militant in Chirang district on Wednesday who was involved in the gory Adivasi massacre in 2014. Identified as Saranjoy Musahary, who was involved in the Adivasi carnage was held by a joint team of police and CRPF from Patabari area in the wee hours during a combing operation by Police and CRPF's Cobra battalion. He was believed to have killed at least ten Adivasi people in Lungsung forest area in Kokrajhar district in December last year.Police further seized a grenade was from the Myanmar-trained militant. Musahary joined NDFB(S) in 2012 who was attached with 37th batch of the underground outfit.
