Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) organised a two day free health check up camp and Free Veterinary Health Camp in two remote and inaccessible villages od Udalguri district recently the villages namely Teliyapara and Phulbari .The free health camp which was flagged off by the Udalguri SSB Commanding officer B.K Sharma was attended by a great number of village folks. The persons were also given medicines free of cost. Such iniatives by the paramilitary forces in remote villages of Indo-Bhutan border is applaudable said one of the beneficiary.It may be mentioned that SSB have been rendering yeoman’s service in Udalguri district since it was stationed at Bhairabkunda.The SSB has a glorious past as it was formed for the internal security of the border regions along Nepal and Bhutan immediately after the 1962 India-China war and since then, the security force has been doing a lot of people-friendly activities in the border region.
Orang National Park, Assam: A tragic incident occurred on Wednesday evening, August 28, 2024, when a forest guard was fatally attacked by a Royal Bengal Tiger. Dhanmoni Deka, a 32-year-old forest guard, was patrolling the Bilpara range with a fellow guard when the attack took place.
According to reports, the tiger pounced on Deka and dragged him into the dense forest.Despite attempts by the other guard to scare the animal away with warning shots, the tiger did not relent. Deka's mutilated body was later found by forest officials approximately 3 kilometers from the Kheroni camp.
