Bwisagu celebrated in Kokrajhar
People, young and old in traditional attire were seen participating in the celebration singing and dancing to the beat of Bodo musical instruments like kham, jhota, serja, jotha on the occasion of Rongjali Bwisagu(Rongali Bihu),along with rest of the state of Assam on Thursday.
The Rongjali Bwisagu, a festival of Bodos merry making enjoyment on the first day of Bwisak month (Rongali Bihu), being organized by the All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) at Kokrajhar District Sports Association (KDSA) ground in lower Assam’s Kokrajhar district, peoples from all walks of life thronged with traditional attire and dances. People were seen making merry making celebrating the spring festival with pomp and gaiety singing and dancing. Promod Boro,ABSU president hoisted union flag while noted writer and sahitya academy awarded Brajendra Kumar Brahma hoisted Bwisagu flag on the occasion in the presence of huge Bwisagu singer and damsels.
Promod Boro,ABSU president extending greeting to all citizens of the state on the occasion of Rongjali Bwisagu(Rongali Bigu) said that the Bwisagu is festival of enjoying with own culture. ‘Let, the Bwisagu to bring peace and harmony among all section sections of community in the state’,Boro said.
Rwisumwi Brahma and Dilip Narzary,Bodo dancers wished happy Bwisagu or happy Bihu on the Bwisagu celebration.
